Recently upgraded with the externals and pre amp, this wasnt my first outing with them
but I am still learning the ropes, had to adjust the mic gain on the preamp slightly
after Shake Dog Shake.
Got tickets last minute via Scarlet Mist, had heard of it but this was the first time I had
used it, such a shame such a great concept and such a shame noe no longer on line.
I hope the reasons behind it have a happy ending.
Cheers to Ben for the ticket.
Anyway this is what it is I think a decent capture of a great live band
in an "intimate venue" for them, for their fans.

Recorded by dear DIMENEW at app. 5 meters left side of stage center. Another excellent recording though not as good as the 12/22 tape. This recording has a lot more of useless chatter
and some more boomy bass. I was thinking about some equailization, but decided to give you this with warts and all other possible disturbances. Just because I think that it sounds fine
the way it is. You'll decide for yourself, but be warned as on today's x-mas cake'n'coffee my dear sister-in-law stated that your fellow Spacebandit can't hear anything at all...hmm,
maybe only that what I do not want to listen to?

Second (or better first) of the CURE's X-Mas shows at Hammersmith Odeon. I've decided to put up the gorgeous sounding 12/22 show for x-mas eve before, in contrast to my usual politics of
posting by date. Seems like a good decision and I hope you all out there enjoyed the show. My own history about THE CURE is short. I really loved the "Disintegration" album way back those
years. Not too many of those are played here except for the "hit" songs, but I missed the title track as well. But, huh, I'm not that expert on THE CURE. So I better keep my mouth shut

As mentioned above I was a few steps closer then the previous night and I thought
that maybe the band played louder as well. I kept the settings that I ended
the previous night with but after SDS I noticed they were peaking too high.
I turned them down during the first few seconds of PITM. Because of this
there is a fair amount of clipping during SDS, I will still put it down to
trial and error with my new set up. From PITM the recording is as good
if not better then the previous night. The 3 tracks added PUSH, INBETWEEN DAYS
and FASCINATION STREET made this an even better night for me track wise.
Anyway this is what it is I think a decent capture of a great live band
in an "intimate venue" for them, for their fans.

Recorded by dear DIMENEW located on the empore (balcony) a bit left of center. Excellent recording with almost no chatters audible. Crowd noise is low, all instrument and vocals are clear.
With one major exception...the mixing desk was definitely outarage... Sound gets a bit muddy and weird towards the increasing substance dropping on the main sound system. Just my guess.

The third of three Christmas Cure shows which were unofficially celebrating the 30th anniversary of the release of The Top album and subsequent tour. I nice gesture by Robert was to invite And Also The Trees along as support as they were 30 years ago. I attended the Liverpool show on that tour, my first Cure show. These three are the 54th, 55th and 56th times I’d seen the band, most of them great and lots unforgettable. This run of three compare well with other runs of three in London on the Kissing and Prayer tours. Although the set lists maybe lacking the variation of those shows, they definitely benefit from extra energy of the band not being worn out after a long World or European tour. Robert was chattier in these shows than he’d been in in the previous 50 odd I’d seen. Another nice touch, which I haven’t seen acknowledged elsewhere, was Robert’s dedication of Lovecats to ex manager Chris Parry, referred to as Bill. Anyway, enough of me, time to enjoy the show.

The Cure — британская рок-группа, образованная в Кроули (англ. Crawley, Сассекс, Англия) в 1976 году. За время существования состав группы неоднократно менялся, её единственным постоянным участником остаётся фронтмен, вокалист, гитарист и автор песен Роберт Смит.
Группа возникла в конце 1970-х, во время бума пост-панка и новой волны, пришедших в Великобритании на смену панк-року. Её дебютом стали сингл «Killing an Arab» и альбом Three Imaginary Boys (1979). Планировалось два шоу, но вследствие небывалого ажиотажа при покупке билетов (10 тысяч билетов были раскуплены менее чем за полчаса) добавили третье шоу, 23 декабря.

The band will be performing a 150 minute show playing songs drawn from their entire 37 year old catalogue including deep cuts, pop songs, fan favourites and surprises galore...
Reprising the role they performed at the same venue 30 years ago each concert will also feature And Also The Trees as support.
